Peter Barker was born in 1954 in Banbury, Oxfordshire, where he spent his childhood. Much of his inherent love of nature and interest in conservation was instilled through this local countryside.

He has held numerous highly acclaimed shows and is in ever-increasing demand. His work can be found in private collections in the UK, USA and Australia.

Peter's work has been accepted by the Pastel Society, where in 2006 he won the Frank Herring Award, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of Marine Artists.

He paints a wide variety of subjects - landscapes, marine, wildlife, still-life and portraits. He works with oil, pastel, acrylic and watercolour.
